“I want to go to the chiropractor for this pain I’m having, but I’m afraid the chiropractor will make me come back forever!”

Individualization:

While different chiropractors have different philosophies we here at Clayton Chiropractic Center believe strongly in individualizing a plan for each person and his or her specific needs. Before we develop a treatment plan:

  • We will do a consultation to see if chiropractic care is right for you
  • We perform an exam
  • Listen to what your goals are
  • Listen to what their problems are and, based on that, we find the right treatment plan for you

Getting you out of pain:

Our initial goal is to get you out of pain so you can get back to your life. Depending on the severity of the pain or injury and you age, it can take anywhere from a few days to 2-3 weeks.

Pain relieving therapies:

  • Muscle work
  • Electrical stimulation
  • The traction Spinalator rolling table
  • Ice and heat therapy
  • And adjustments!

Fixing the CAUSE:

Once we know what the root cause of the problem is, we try to fix the cause so that the problem will not reoccur. Many times we have already started doing this during the initial treatment for pain reduction!

Adding Exercises

We may give the patient home activities such as:

  • Stretches
  • Postural cues
  • Strengthening exercises

Avoiding Triggers

Or we may change some of the things they do throughout the day such as:

  • Sitting at their desk
  • Sitting in their car
  • Picking up the kids
  • Or whatever activity causes them to have pain.

Future Care:

We meet patients where they are, which means some patients prefer to come in monthly to keep on track and some prefer to come in when pain returns, either way we are always here to support your needs!

Monthly care for prevention:

  • These patients realized that if they come once a month that their pain does not return
  • While if they don’t come once a month they have pain, which takes them two to three visits to get back to normal and end up coming more than 12 times a year anyway.
  • They are able to be active and perform daily activities
  • They have a peace-of-mind that their body is functioning optimally

As needed:

  • These patients aren’t interested in learning about home exercises and would rather return when the pain comes back, and that’s totally fine!
  • For other patients, they just come as soon as the pain comes back or a different pain returns.
  • For these patients, we treat them for their acute condition and send them on their way until the next time they need us!

As chiropractors, we give great advice on how to manage and treat the condition that you have and give you the opportunity to choose if you want to integrate it as part of your daily life.
