The sciatic nerves starts in your low back, goes into your buttocks, and then down the back of your leg. When that nerve is irritated or possibly pinched, you can have pain, numbness or tingling in the specific area of your leg that is supplied by the irritated nerve. The term “Sciatica” is often used to describe this condition, but could also be called lumbar radiculopathy or piriformis syndrome based on the cause. Symptoms may vary from a dull ache to a constant severe sharp shooting pain. Your symptoms are likely aggravated by certain positions or movements.
To solve this problem, we will treat the source of your nerve irritation. We can order x-rays or MRIs if needed too.
