Smoothie Recipes on the Go
I love smoothies, but if you are like me, I do not have enough time to make the smoothie and then clean the blender every morning. Also, my dog, Einstein, HATES the sound the blender make so I try not to run it every day. (good thing he is cute, right?)
My solution:
I bought these great smoothie molds on Amazon. I make about 4 cups worth of smoothie, fill the 6 molds, and drink the rest for breakfast. Then, I freeze them and grab one on my way to work. By the time I sit down to eat it, it is the perfect consistency. I rinse the molds right after I am finished to avoid a big mess later. If you know me, you know I have no interest in cleaning, so try to stay away from dried stuck-on food.
Get creative with your smoothie making. Don’t get in a rut of the same smoothie recipes. I try to use seasonal fruit and vegetables. For example, my favorite winter smoothie is almond milk, blueberries, banana, spinach, and kakao powder. In the summer, I love using frozen strawberries, orange juice with coconut water, and even a little lemon.
